Second // I don’t know
I feel you, true heart
clutching at scripture,
demanding the gospel of science
to explain how it all works
and why.
I’ve heard a thousand truths
from a thousand mouths
I’ve taken cups of tepid water
from those who promised the ocean.
Be slow to trust the taste of certainty.
Abandon that life raft of false security.
Let us give ourselves back to the heaving sea.
Perhaps she already knows how to bring us to shore.
