Hello, fellow human. I am so glad you’re here. I live, move, write and make things on Darkinjung land, on the Central Coast of New South Wales.
These modes of being each do different things for me. Poetry is how I dig out the beauty in reality. And making objects is a true collaboration — with Earth and her elements, the laws of chemistry, the mystery of ideas, and the magic of unintended consequences.
Outside the studio, I work in sustainability and climate action. And the thing that most worries me, when I look at the crises facing our planet, is the short slide from overwhelm into apathy.
My artistic work is an attempt to stay in a relationship — with nature and reality — that is both open-eyed and open-hearted. It is a reminder to my corporate self that sustainability lives beyond spreadsheets and science-based carbon targets.
We need to remember what (and who) we’re working to save.
Ceramics are part of my bloodline and identity. I am the daughter and granddaughter of potters. Raeburn is my middle name, and also the name of my grandmother — a true artist, who couldn’t help but keep exploring and creating for her entire life.
